Temporary Diversion of Coolyhane Road Upper, Macroom, July 2020
The Contractor has recently constructed a temporary diversion of the Coolyhane Road Upper. This diversion is provided to keep the Coolyhane Road Upper open to general traffic and to allow for the construction of the Coolyhane Overbridge on the main alignment of the new N22 road. Bulk excavation of soil and stone has commenced and construction of the bridge will commence shortly. Residents of the Coolyhane area will be aware of the extent of overall construction works undertaken in the area in recent months.
It is anticipated that the construction of the Coolyhane Overbridge will take 5 months to complete, by which time it will be opened to general traffic and the temporary diversion route will be closed.
The Contractor wishes to express gratitude for the patience and co-operation of local residents in the Coolyhane area affected by the construction activities, and wishes to assure them that all efforts are made to keep disturbance from the works to a minimum.
