N22BBM: Nuashonrú maidir le Baint Carraige ag Gearradh 4 sa Tonn Láin/ Update on Rock Removal at Cut 4 in Toonlane
Earthworks commenced in Section 1.2 of the scheme, which stretches from the Toonlane compound to the Kilnamartyra Road, in the second half of October 2020. Rock removal, from what is referred to as Cut 4 in Toonlane, was one of the key tasks to be carried out in this Section. This was required in order to provide high quality construction material for elements of the works and to allow the construction of a haul road along the main alignment of the scheme. The haul road will be used to haul road building material along the main alignment, thereby removing the necessity to move this type of material by public road.
